Terms of Engagement
Bridgepoint Services (BPS)
These Terms of Engagement govern the provision of services by Bridgepoint Services (BPS) (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you, the client (“you”, “your”). By using our website, submitting an enquiry, or entering into an agreement with us, you agree to these terms.
1. Who We Are
Bridgepoint Services (BPS) is an independent UK-based company providing research and administrative support in relation to dormant or unclaimed bank, insurance, and pension assets.
We are not a bank, insurer, pension provider, government body, or financial institution.
2. What We Do
We provide the following services:
Asset Search & Trace
Claim Pack Preparation
Submission Guidance (Client Submits)
Our services are limited to research and administrative support only.
We do not:
Hold, receive, control, or distribute client funds
Act as a fiduciary, financial adviser, or legal representative
Guarantee that assets will be identified or that any claim will succeed
3. Client Responsibility
Clients:
Can search for and claim assets for free themselves directly with relevant institutions
Remain solely responsible for submitting claims
Are responsible for providing accurate and complete information
Are responsible for responding to any institution requests
All decisions regarding entitlement, verification, and payment are made by the relevant institution, not by BPS.
4. No Guarantee of Outcome
We do not guarantee that:
Assets will be identified
Claims will be accepted
Any payment will be made
Our role is to provide research and guidance based on available records.
5. Fees
Our fees are success-based and range between 10% and 25% of the gross asset value, plus VAT.
The applicable percentage will be confirmed in writing once assets have been identified.
Fees become payable once BPS provides written confirmation that relevant assets have been identified, regardless of:
Whether a claim is ultimately approved
When or if any payment is made
All funds associated with assets are paid directly to the client by the institution.
6. No Handling of Client Money
Bridgepoint Services does not:
Receive funds
Hold client money
Process payments from institutions
All money flows directly between the institution and the client.
7. Consumer Rights & Cooling-Off
If you are a consumer under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing to our services.
If you request that we begin work during the cooling-off period, you may be required to pay for work completed up to the point of cancellation.
8. Data Protection
We process personal data only for the purpose of providing our services and in accordance with UK data protection law. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
We are not liable for decisions, delays, or actions taken by third-party institutions
We are not liable for financial loss arising from unsuccessful claims
Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid to us
10. Termination
Either party may terminate services in writing. Termination does not affect fees already due for work completed.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Important Disclaimer
Bridgepoint Services (BPS) is not a bank, insurer, pension provider, or government body. Clients can claim assets for free themselves. We do not handle or receive client funds and provide research and administrative support only.
